Just like with other extensions, .eu domain names also have an expiration date of one year from the registration date (if a domain name is renewed for more than one year, the public Whois database will display in any case the one-year expiration date, whereas in the Aruba Customer Area, you will see the effective expiration date, based on the number of years you made the renewal for).

If a .eu domain is not renewed within the expiration date, Eurid will be requested to cancel such domain and will put it into Quarantine; after the 40-day period of Quarantine, the domain name will remain assigned to the current holder until permanent cancellation, after which it will become available again for registration.

During the Quarantine period, the domain can be reactivated by the domain holder, simply by following the Renewal process.

It is possible to transfer Quarantined .eu domain names from another provider to Aruba, by following the standard Transfer process after placing an order at hosting.aruba.it

The expiration date of reactivated domain names will be extended by one year from the date of reactivation.
